Instructions

Do you like art? If so, what kind of art? If we think about it, we all like art in some shape or form. For some, art is a beautiful oil painting on canvas. To another, art is expressed through dance, while to another, it is expressed through one's fingers as one molds and shapes new objects made with clay. Did you know that written text can also be art? I would like all of you to be artists with the freedom to express yourselves in any way that you would like.

Every Monday morning, I will post a topic on my blog, which you are reading these instructions from. Once you have read my topic, you will need to leave a comment on my page. However, this "comment" should be more than one sentence. It should be your response to the question I am posting on my blog. I would really like to encourage you all to try to write as much as you can. Although I would like for you to write as much as you can, please do not spend more than 30 minutes writing them. If you read a comment from your classmates that you find to be interesting, feel free to comment to them as well! Lets try to make this as interactive via the Internet as possible. Your responses and comments will need to be completed by 8:00 p.m. every Friday. There will be no exception! Therefore, plan on completing this assignment before the Friday deadline in order to ensure that you receive full credit, which will be 10 points for each week.

On a final note, these blogs are intended to be fun and to allow you to further practice writing in English in a variety of avenues. Be adventurous and express yourselves! Although I am primarily looking a lot at the content, I will also be looking upon your grammar as well. Aim for grammatical accuracy. Nonetheless, have fun, and do not forget, all of you are artists!!

  1. I think my indispensable possession is money. Except this, I cannot live no more than a week. This is because, in dormitory, I can eat only 10 meal per week. It’s not enough to live. To keep moving, I need more meal; that is why money is necessary to me in these days. Also, I always using smart phone or internet that I cannot imagine live without that stuff too; but my priority was money because if I don’t have money, I could not get a data and when this stuff was not working, I cannot fix it.
In other words, I could get another cell phone or fix my laptop computer if I have enough money to do that. Even though now I am live in USA, I can buy Korean food on the internet, h-market or, Korean food restaurant. It was amazing things in everybody’s life. We spend a money even now. We are using electricity by using computer, light, air-conditional, everything around us needs to pay. In conclusion, top of my indispensable stuff is money.

  2. I think my indispensable possession is my cell phone. There are three reasons. First, I have to contact with my boyfriend who is in army, Korea. Without this, I have to use air mail, but it will take too much time to contact with him. By using this, I can touch with him very fast, and even feel like I’m with him. Second, I can get into social network by my smart phone. Nowadays, there are so many social network in internet like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. Especially, people used to get into there by their smart phone. Every time they check that and get some fresh news by them. Third, I can find some information immediately whenever I need. When I lost my way, I can see the map which tell me where I am, where I go. When I want to know how to make pasta, I can search in internet. Like this, I can find many information by the smart phone. In this reasons, I think my smart phone is indispensable possession to me.

  3. My most indispensable possession is iPhone. If i lost my iPhone, I could not survive. I always use it for almost every activity all day long. For example; an alarm of my phone wakes me up every morning. Then, I check my emails, Facebook, snapchat and news on my phone. I use my phone as an English dictionary at classes, and contact with my friends to hang out around campus. At night, I watch Youtube videos or listen to music while doing homework or cooking. Not only me but also other people cannot survive without smart phone. When I walk on a road, almost everyone use their phones; search restaurants on the website Yelp, use GPS to get to the distination, talk on a phone, and listen to music. Now I can say I am addicted to my phone. However, I was worse when I was in Japan. I could use the Internet everywhere in Japan. So I could not stand even 10 seconds not to check my phone. One day I forgot my phone at home and went out to see my friend. That day was totally horrible because it was hard to contact with my friend and when i saw my friend using her phone, I had nothing to do. After I came to America, I am less obsessed to having my phone and using my phone. I do not have an American phone. So I cannot use the Internet where there is no Wifi. The problem is that now I am obsessed with searching places where I can use Wifi. I know this kind of addiction or obsession is very bad to me mentally and physically. When I use my phone too much, I get head ache and my eyes hurt. I know that I should change my life style but it is so hard to leave my phone because there are more advantages than disadvantages of using phones. Therefore, my phone is very necessary for my life because it helps me a lot in many ways.

  5. My family is the most valuable thing in my life, I cannot live without it. Firstly, my parents give me birth and raise me well. Last year I saw how my cousin took care of her infant, it is not easy thing. Because she had to stayed with the baby and fed her every two hours. Furthermore, they teach me how to talk and how to walk. Even though everyone can teach baby walking, my parents give me their time and love to teach me. Moreover parents give me what I want and teach me how to be a kind person.

  6. The most indispensable possession for me is love, from the people who I love and who love me. Without love, I can not even imagine what kind of life will be. When I was born, I started feeling the love from my family. When I went to school, I learned the love from my friends. When I totally grew up, I enjoyed the love from my boyfriend. These people take care of me, and help me live in this world joyfully. Without the love what they give to me, I will be lonely and upset. When I feel sad, no one can listen to me, and help me out. Without the love, the world for me is dark. There will be no hope, no expect, and no warmth. It will make me feel live in the hell. I like the emotion that I know there are some people who will always stay behind me, support me, and care for me. So love is the most indispensable possession for me.

  7. Actually, I would like to say that the most indispensable item for myself is the Internet. I think most people cannot live without Internet because Internet can help us make our lives more convenient than before. For example, I am doing my in-class writing now on the blog instead of writing a lot of words on a piece of paper. In addition, we can get lots of help from the Internet, such as we can abroad our eyesight by surfing the Internet and find some information we need on the websites. What's more, people can communicate with each other easily through the Internet. People were used to spend much time sending a letter to another people in the past. By contrast, nowdays we can send a message to our friends immediately by MSN...etc.. It is worth mention the reason why a lot of young people consider that Internet is the most important thing for themselves is that they are crazy about computer games on the Internet.

  8. My most indispensable possession is my house. No one can live without a house, and even if they do their life is so hard. Home is the place where you can rest from work, where you can get your privacy, and where you can enjoy your time with the people you love the most. I think that most things we use in nowadays are supplementary while home isn't, for example we can live without our cell phones, television, and even without cars. In fact these things didn't exist back then and people lived their life, but people always lived in a house and always will.

  9. My indispensable possession will definitely be a laptop. I have my owned laptop start from I became a university student, my mother didn't let me to have one before I went to university, because she think that I’ll not focus on the school’s works. Finally, I got one at the end of the high school year. At first, I did use it to play some games, and I did have some fun with my cousin. However, after my first year of university life, laptop became more and more important to me. I almost went to school every day with my laptop, for doing some experimental analysis, taking notes on classes, and finding useful academic resources on the Internet. Therefore, laptop gradually became my most indispensable possession, it is too useful and practical for me; hence, no matter how heavy it is, when I need it, I’ll carry it to anywhere.

  11. My car, KIA spectra, is my most indispensable possession. I bought this car two months ago. It is a nice car, and its size is middle. Before I bought the car, I had asked my friends many times to take me or take my family for shopping or visiting a doctor. They were willing to help me, but sometime they did not have enough time to help me. Now, I have car, and I depend on myself to do what I want. Although I faced some problems in my car, I still love it, and I always described as necessary thing in my life. On the other hand, it is hard to live in California without car because California has a bad transportation, and I am not single to buy a bicycle. In few words, my car is like my feet here In USA.

  12. I think my most indispensable possession is living with my families. Because, family is the only place I can do what I want do. For example, When the family members come back home from work place or school, they will share experiences. It is doesn't matter what the experience is. Maybe, the experience is complain or say someone's bad things. On the other hand, the family members love each other and take care of each other. If one of the family members have in trouble, the others will help him or her at the first time. What a awesome unit the family is!

  13. Anyone may have some special possessions not to be exchanged, and each possession may have a special meaning. My wife and I have special possessions like others, too. The possessions are ordinary silver rings which we have worn before we got married. One day, I thought I lost my ring. I got depression, and I felt so sad because I thought that I could purchase it again although the ring had a lot of meanings for us. Fortunately, I found out it in my room. Actually, the ring is just simple and inexpensive, but it is most indispensable possession for me.

But the most important thing I need from my cellphone is the connection with my family. Furthermore, I have some close friends who like to push mail to me through cellphone. Secondly, I like music and I enjoy listening to music when I go to school by bus. Besides listening to music, I also can listen to English audio to practice my listening. Third, I’m addicted to smartphone and old phone, like Walkman of Sony or PPC. I used to have an old cellphone collection when I was in university; however, it took lots of money and time. Thus I sold it to my friend who has the same interest with me. Finally, like every young people nowadays, I use cellphone to access some social network pages like Facebook, Twitter …

  15. My indispensable possession is my cell phone. These days, many young people are using a smart phone. We can easily find some information by the smart phone. I am always feeling thanks a lot. Currently, I am using IPhone5s. This one is my second smart phone. When using the first smart phone, I could feel it was very good and comfortable because I had used a regular phone until then. At that time, I thought the technology was enough, and it could not be improved. However, the more time flies, the technology is also being developed. Now, I am satisfied with my phone. Maybe, I will not live long time without smart phone.

  16. Sorry for late, but I was absent, and I have just seen this new blog.

I think my indispensable possession is my iPhones especially my iPhone 5. I'm very addicted to my iPhone. It has more than 25000 pictures and videos. Moreover, it has all my conversations with my family and friends. I love how it is easy to translate words and find synonyms. Also, it is convenient that I can take it with me everywhere and use the internet. I like the way when this phone saves my personal information and notes. I think the most intelligent aspect in this device that I can depend on it to remind me going my appointments or studying for my tests. because everything important in my life and my study is recorded in this iPhone, I decided to buy three of battery chargers that can help me to keep me connected all time. I'm too afraid from losing my iPhone because I will lose everything afterward.
